Robert Reid, P.Eng. MBA

President and CEO
Rob has 20 years of utility engineering, operations and regulatory experience. His broad background includes project management for large infrastructure projects, IESO metering design and installation, and consulting on energy market issues. He is a licensed engineer in the Province of Ontario (Toronto ’90) and holds an MBA (Laurentian ’96) specializing in marketing and finance. Rob is active in the utility industry through memberships in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the Automated Meter Reading Association (AMRA), the Electricity Distributors Association (EDA - Commercial Member) and, as a guest at the IESO’s MSP User’s Group and Revenue Metering Subcommittee meetings. Rob has extensive experience in all areas of electric utility management, operation and engineering. Regulatory experience includes in-depth knowledge of electricity markets and strong relationships with the Ontario Energy Board, Measurement Canada, the Independent Electricity System Operator, the Ontario Power Authority, the International Standards Organization, the Electrical Safety Authority, and the Canadian Standards Association. Operations and engineering accomplishments include the development of a Measurement Canada accredited meter shop, the development of three separate IESO-registered meter service provider organizations, and the implementation of one of the first two-way communications automated meter reading systems in Ontario. Most recently, successes include the development of several renewable energy projects with the individual highlight of achieving the first 1000V DC solar collector system being approved for use in Ontario by ESA.

Ron Merrett

MSP Coordinator
Ron has accumulated over 30 years of utility and metering experience through a variety of positions dealing with meter reading, metering installation design and construction, meter re-verification and customer service. Ron is a graduate of Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology, York University and the EDA Journeyperson meterman course and, until recently, worked his entire career with Great Lakes Power (Brookfield Power). Ron has extensive experience with all aspects of revenue metering, including manual and automated meter reading, metering installation design, construction and re-verification, IESO meter service provider requirements, procurement and Measurement Canada regulations.

Louis Muio, B.A.SC.

Project Manager
Louis is a Project Manager at N-Sci Technologies. He joined the company in 2010, bringing with him over 30 years of experience managing many Major Capital Projects at St. Mary’s Paper. In this position, he is responsible for the design of ground mount solar systems, low and medium voltage system distribution, solar tracking systems and communications systems. Louis received a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from Lake Superior State University, where he graduated in 1969. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Western Michigan University in 1970. In addition to both degrees, Louis took a short course on the Programming of Microprocessors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Louis is active in the utility industry holding memberships in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), The American Society for Quality (ICET), Meter Reading Association (CPPA) and Electricity Distributors Association (TAPPI). Locally, he volunteers as the President of the St. Mary’s River Marine Heritage Centre and as a member on the Sault College Electrical/Electronic Advisory Committee, which he has been apart of for approximately 23 years.

Jonathan Pasiak, B.Sc.

Project Coordinator
Jonathan has been with N-Sci Technologies since January 2011. As a Project Coordinator, he assists with a variety of engineering projects in the areas of renewable energy project development, electricity market support, market forecasting, feasibility studies and Ontario Power Authority program support. Jonathan is currently working towards his professional engineering designation so he can practice as a licensed electrical engineer in Ontario. Jonathan received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Digital Systems option from Lake Superior State University, where he graduated in May 2009. During the course of his studies, Jonathan was an annual recipient of the Board of Trustees Ontario Achievement Award.

Mark Caccamo, B. Eng, P. Eng.

Senior Project Engineer
Mark joined N-Sci Technologies in 2011, bringing with him over 30 years of diverse experience in the power generation industry. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree in 1979 from Lakehead University. Mark has managed numerous equipment upgrade projects, planned and supervised many steam turbine and gas turbine scheduled overhauls and emergency breakdown repairs. He has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, eventually being accountable for the operation and maintenance of five steam and gas turbine gensets as well as utilities distribution throughout a large chemical plant complex. Mark has supervised the start-up of a plant hosting a 103 Mw combined cycle power projects, organizing and delivering training to mill personnel. Mark has overseen the integration of a new 85 Mw power generation facility and as well as being accountable for health & safety and the environment, human resources, community relations, capital planning, budget and cost management and ultimately P&L of a 110 Mw gas fired combined cycle cogeneration facility. Mark now manages both new and retrofit energy projects including development activities, process design and regulatory approvals at N-Sci Technologies.

Paul Yendell

Engineering Technician
Paul joined N-Sci Technologies in November of 2011, he brought over ten years of CAD and Engineering experience. Paul graduated with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering CAD Technician from Conestoga College in 1998 then joined the workforce as a Draftsman for several companies. Paul attained a certificate in Geographical Information System from Sault College in 2006 and a certificate in Renewable Energy Green Construction in 2011. He now assists in creating and managing the CAD documents for N-Sci Renewable Energy, Communication, Power Generation and Metering projects.

Michael Paciocco, M.A.Sc.

Research Analyst
Michael joined N-Sci Technologies in April 2013, bringing three years of applied research experience in engineering in the Ontario Energy Industry. Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science with honours Co-op in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2003 and a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 2009. Michael has worked in the Ontario energy market since 2010 as a research analyst conducting feasibility studies for renewable energy and micro-grid in the Northern Ontario region and remote communities.
